Community Telecom Management
Counties, municipalities, and other government authorities historically have limited oversight of telecom infrastructure in their jurisdictions and often received modest revenue through fees. Unfortunately, the industry is moving to reduce or eliminate local government's role.
Communities need robust broadband and telecom infrastructure to facilitate emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous vehicles, drone delivery, and edge computing. Municipalities need solid working relationships with telecom companies in their communities to establish a progressive framework (ordinances, zoning, etc.) that encourages technology development.
Advisory Services to Communities
We help municipalities and other public agencies understand the trends and technologies that will impact communities near-term and long-term.
franchise and usage fees • ordinances & zoning that support new technology integration • review of proposed tower/antennae sites: compound, tower, antennae, documents, engineering, permits • picocells/microcells (small cellular antennas sometimes disguised as a boulder or some other natural item)
Telecom Marketing
Our founders have extensive experience with public safety radio networks and community broadband projects.
- In 2009, we authored Pennsylvania's statewide broadband plan that helped attract nearly $130 million in federal broadband stimulus grants.
- We developed a comprehensive strategy to market excess capacity of the state-owned/operated wireless broadband network in rural northern Pennsylvania.
- We prepared an RFP for tower management services that would market excess capacity on Pennsylvania's state-owned towers.
- We created strategies to expand broadband service to rural counties by encouraging local stakeholders to consolidate their demand and contract with a single provider.
Telecom Marketing
